Bookings can be made directly at our store in person or via WhatsApp.
We accept bookings up to 6 months in advance, but not later than 3 days before your graduation day.
A 50% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the balance due upon collection.
Bookings are only confirmed once the 50% deposit is received.
Postage orders are only dispatched on business days (Monday to Friday). Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on the next business day.
Rental Returns
The standard rental period is 2 days.
Graduation attire must be returned during store opening hours on the final day of the booking.
For in-store drop-offs, customers are expected to return the item where it was collected.
If the return date falls on a day the store is closed (e.g., Sundays or Public Holidays), the item must be returned the next business day.
Once a rental item has been collected from the store, no returns or refunds will be given due to change of mind, even if the item is returned unworn.
Postage Returns: For out-of-town customers, rental items must be posted back by the second day of the hire period.
Customers must notify Mr Gowns immediately if there is any delay in returning the item.
If an item is not as described or arrives faulty, customers must contact Mr Gowns within 2 hours of receiving the item. We will arrange an exchange or refund of the booking fee once the item is returned to the store.
Late returns will incur a fee of 50% of the hire price per day beyond the booking end date.
If an item is not returned within 7 days after the return date, it will be considered non-returned, and the customer will be charged 100% of the recommended retail value, in addition to the rental cost already paid. Legal action will be taken if the client fails to comply.
Cancellation Policy
Rental Bookings: A cancellation fee applies to all cancelled bookings. For graduation attire, the fee is 50% of the total hire amount.
Last Minute Orders: Orders placed less than 2 days before the rental start date are considered “Last Minute.” Mr Gowns will not be responsible for any postal or collection delays. Last-minute orders are not eligible for a refund, even in the case of late delivery or failure to collect.
Sale Items: No refunds will be issued for correctly delivered or collected sale items.
Mr Gowns reserves the right to cancel a booking at short notice due to unforeseen circumstances such as item unavailability.
Condition of Rental Items
All rental items are provided in “as new” or “near new” condition.
Minor visible repairs or imperfections may exist due to repeated use.
Customers are encouraged to inspect garments prior to renting.

Damage, Loss & Theft
Customers are expected to take reasonable care of rented items.
For minor damages repairable at a cost below R200, no additional charges will be made.
For lost, stolen, or irreparably damaged items—regardless of fault—the customer is liable for up to 100% of the item’s recommended retail value, in addition to the rental fee already paid.
